A publication of the Mastics-Shirley Citizens Coalition for Honesty and Integrity in our Schools. Just a few of Rich's Inane Excuses for Incompetence and Corruption! Don't expect any apologies or acceptance of responsibility from Rich, after all, he didn't know anything, or rather, "it's just perceptual"?!
On convicted thief and former treasurer
Richard Wright who WROTE CHECKS TO
HIMSELF, this is a good one:
From Newsday: Hawkins states.... "Unfortunately, if an individual is driven to theft, no amount of safeguards, internal controls, or burglar alarms and sirens will stop him." In reply: A quote from Suffolk District Attorney Thomas Spota "The superintendent is the person who has to answer to the community for this. He's the leader. I don't know how in God's name the superintendent of schools can continue to say ... that all these crimes occurred and he and every other administrator in that place were blind to it and couldn't have prevented it. That's just not acceptable. " We couldn't agree more, Mr. Spota!
This quotes from a Newsday Article on
what a great Superintendent Hawkins is:
Don't tell
William Floyd schools chief Richard Hawkins things are going
great, unless you've got proof.
On school board members who own
companies or work for companies that have contracts with the
school system, this ones one of our favorites and shows total
lack of concern regarding ethics!: From Newsday
Responding to concerns raised about board members' business connections to the district, Hawkins said, "It's just perceptual. What we've done is we have disclosed it and abstained from voting. There's nothing wrong with that." In reply: this statement really speaks for itself, total disregard for ethics or conflict of interest, or integrity for that matter.
